The structure of the coaxial connector
1. Contact: It is the core part of the connector to complete the electrical connection function, also known as the contact terminal. Generally, a contact pair is formed by a male contact piece and a female contact piece, and the electrical connection is completed by the insertion of the female contact and the male contact.
The male terminal is generally made of brass, which has good conductivity but poor elasticity; the shape of the male contact is mostly cylindrical (round pin), square column (square pin) or flat sheet (insert);
The female terminal is generally made of phosphor bronze, which has poor conductivity but good elasticity. The shapes of the female contacts are cylindrical (splitting, shrinking), tuning fork type, box type (square jack) and so on.

2. Insulator: Also known as base or mounting plate. It is the main component of the entire connector, which determines the appearance size of the connector and the positioning of each part. The material is generally plastic.
Electrical insulation between terminals;
The geometrical position of the fixed end facilitates insertion and dimensional stability;
Provide mechanical protection and support for terminals;
3. Shell: is the outer cover of the connector
The functions include: structural strengthening, the definition of the male and female sockets, the positioning of the connector PCB, and the sharing of external mechanical protection.
Electrical aspects have EMI shielding, ESD grounding and other functions.
4. Accessories: Accessories are divided into structural accessories and installation accessories.
Structural accessories: retaining ring, positioning pin, guide pin, connecting ring, cable clamp, sealing ring, gasket, etc.
Mounting accessories: screws, nuts, spring rings, washers, etc.
