The meaning of irradiation cable

Irradiation is a processing method, and low smoke and halogen-free is a material characteristic. Irradiation is generally a processing process of changing polyethylene materials into crosslinked polyethylene, which is a physical method, energy-saving and environmentally friendly, with high efficiency and good controllability. Low smoke and halogen-free is a material that meets certain indicators, and wdz should meet GB/T.

Common specifications and models of irradiation cables

The types of radiation cross-linked cables include: WDZ-BYJ(F) radiation cross-linked low-smoke halogen-free flame retardant polyethylene insulated cable, FZ-KYJV radiation cross-linked polyethylene insulated control cable, WDZ-KYJ(F) radiation cross-linked low-smoke halogen-free flame retardant polyethylene insulated power cable, etc.

Advantages and disadvantages of irradiated wires and cables

Advantages:

  1. The insulation temperature resistance grade is improved. The insulation temperature resistance grade of cross-linked cable is 90℃, and the temperature resistance of cross-linked cable wires after irradiation can reach 125℃ or above.
  2. After irradiation, the oil resistance and cracking resistance of the insulating layer are improved.

Disadvantages:

  1. The wire table can't guarantee that any part of the insulation layer can get the same effect when irradiated, especially for the specifications with thick insulation layer;
  2. Due to the limitation of equipment, the outer diameter of the cable exceeds the pipe diameter or the pay-off cable reel is too large to be processed.
